Mya and I went for a drive today and this is what caught our eye - Pictures #1 to #3.
Picture #4 was taken at Meenan's Cove on October 19th. I call it "Sleeping Geese". I wonder if the males are standing and the females are laying down or is it the other way around?

Dang! You worked hard to get that boat in the middle of that frame, didn't you? That's okay, I can still break the picture up into thirds, my friend. :) Nice shots by the way.
FCC's guest speaker last night was Andre Gallant. Inspiring! I'm not good at taking shots of "things" but man, his shots made me want to get up and start shooting. BEAUTIFUL stuff!!
Time to go read the paper before I get Baby Thirds up.

I did work hard to center the boat. I think you will agree it wouldn't have worked otherwise. They had just dropped anchor so I waited for the ever expanding ripples to fill the frame before snapping the shutter.
I tried to balance the picture by including some foreground, a third approximately, with the background being predominantly reflection. It makes one scan the image several times to take it all in and that was my goal.
I was on the Old Neck Road looking towards the Kingston Peninsula.
Shutter 1/400; f5.6; ISO 200; Zoom 300mm. The reason the shutter speed it up and the aperature 'large' is I had been taking pictures handheld. I hadn't thought to re-adjust the aperature when I grabbed the tripod. If I had the sharpness of the trees in the foreground would have been more pleasing.
