Going Fishing

#1 -Taken Thursday afternoon at Meenan's Cove. I expect the ice is roughly a foot thick after all the cold weather we have had lately. Mr Fisherman is inside nice and warm.

#2 - Taken Friday morning after last night's snowfall. I didn't have time to get some close up pictures but I will later.

Cool Woodpecker

These were taken through my living room window this afternoon. Here he is looking for something to eat. Too bad he didn't see the two balls of suet and seeds hanging in my back yard. Sunny but windy and cold again today. Minus 12 degrees Celsius with a stiff breeze.
Both images have been cropped a bit in Photoshop.

Light through a Church Window

Here are a few pictures I took this past Saturday at the Cathedral Of The Immaculate Conception in Saint John. It was a sunny day outside and the resulting light was very interesting. Some pictures are direct light but others are reflections.

Kayli and I at Meenan's Cove

Kayli and I bundled up really warm and went to Meenan's Cove Park for a hour or so this morning.
#1 - We found this Christmas ornament hanging in a tree along the trail and just had to pose for a picture.
#2 - Kayli carried these two snowballs all around the park.
#3 - Nothing is safe from a snowball. Not even a Nikon.
#4 - The first slide is the most difficult.
#5 - No slide is complete without a little music.
#6 - Being a little naughty for the camera.
#7 - Someone likes to slide no matter how much snow is on the slide.
#8 - Too much snow for the first slide.
#9 - Not quite, but better.
#10 - Hey, this went better.
#11 - Nylon suits on plastic slides make for fast rides. Wheeee.

We had a great time, as always.

When Eagels Feed

I snapped this picture this morning at Meenan's Cove. The wind was blowing at least 30 mph and this Immature Eagle was having a difficult time keeping from blowing away. I even had to brace myself against a large maple tree for support. I thought at first it was a Turkey Vulture but when I got the picture on the computer the destinctive Vulture red head was not there. This has been cropped a little. Specs are: 1/400", F 6.3, ISO 200, 300 mm zoom (450 in 35 mm speak).

I cannot tell what he is eating but there are a number of ducks in the open water and this feast could be one of them.

Bruce L and I were to Mud Lake this past Thursday for a photo outing. This is what I saw.

When Ice Melts

Kennebecasis River this morning. I had a really difficult time getting the picture I wanted. I am not sure if I succeeded. This is almost it. Too many houses and power lines.

No Snow Man

Pretty well says it all. He looks pretty lonesome sitting there with all that green grass around him.
